Look at me, I’m a writer!

A few weeks ago, the folks over at Stylehive asked me if I’d like to write a blog post about intimate apparel for them every two weeks or so.  I whole-heartedly agreed.  Now, I’m officially listed on their blogger page!  Cool.  I feel so special. :)

The bank teller

So, I went to the bank today to make a deposit.  It’s a long story, but I bank with more than one bank.  So, I was depositing money from an account at one bank (Washington Mutual) and into the account at the other bank (Regions).  Essentially, I wrote myself a check.  So, I go into Regions to deposit it and hand it to the teller.  She makes the deposit, turns around to hand me the receipt, leans forward, squishes her boobs out and smiles at me.

“Now tell me,” she says like I’m the biggest idiot in the world, “why with these high gas prices are you banking with more than one bank?  Why not have all your accounts in one convenient location?”

Well, let’s see.  You ask me that same question every time I’m here (although the part about the gas prices is a clever new addition) and I give you pretty much the same answer, so you obviously have no memory that I’ve ever been here.  Contrast this to Washington Mutual where every employee greets me by name when I walk in the door.  Second, the boob trick might work with the guys, but I see other peoples’ boobs all day and I have a pair of my own, so I’m not all that impressed with yours.  Third, you really should go down a cup size and up a band size.  I can see your crinkly cups and back fat through your sweater.  Finally and most importantly, it’s none of your f-ing business.

That’s what I thought, but I just smiled, told her I’d think about it and walked away.

I’m famous

So, wow I know it’s been a long time since I’ve written here. Actually having a job leaves me with less free time than when I started this blog. I had to shout this out, though. A few weeks ago, I joined a website called Stylehive. Almost immediately, I got a message from one of the editors…except that like a nutcase I had no idea there was a message system and I didn’t discover it until a week later.

Anyway, the editor asked me to write about my five favorite bras and they’d put a “hivedaily” post together about it. So, I did and…drumroll….here are the results:

It’s so exciting to see myself posted on one of my favorite sites. I know it’s kind of geeky I guess, but still. I am passionate about bras…LOL

Training Day

So, today was my first day of training with Macy’s.  I was so excited, but it actually ended up being pretty boring.  We sat through this sort of introduction to the company thing.  Then, they talked about how we should behave in the stores and how to deal with customers, etc.  Then, we went over all our benefits, vacation, etc.  Yawn.

Tomorrow should be better.  I actually start my departmental training and I’m going to be learning how to properly fit women for bras.

Crap

I was riding my bike yesterday and I came across a guy walking his dog. Just as I passed, the dog squatted to take a crap. Before the tiniest little inkling of poo escaped the dog’s ass, the man had a plastic bag at the ready and was already bending down. Now, this is a normal occurrence these days and I applaud the man for cleaning up after his pet.

Still, the thought occurred to me. How rich would I have to be to have someone follow me around with a plastic bag to clean up my crap whenever I felt the urge to squeeze one out? Seriously, how much would you have to make to do that for a living….yet people do it everyday for free. I guess I’m just not a dog person.

A good day

So, yesterday was my interview at Macy’s. I thought it went really well. I really liked the lady who was interviewing me and I thought we had a bit of a connection and…
Today, she called and offered me a position in the intimates department! I start training next week. I’m so excited. I was starting to think that I would completely run out of money and have to call my mommy back in Missouri to take me back in. So, yay! I get to stay in Florida. I think I’ll go out for a margarita to celebrate, LOL.

Bonding with the TV

Things were pretty rainy all weekend, so I spent most of my time bonding with the TV.  Luckily, there were a few decent movies on the “on demand” station, so I kept myself pretty occupied.  I did manage to get out to the beach for about an hour yesterday so my pale skin saw a little but of sunshine.  Last night, I watched the Oscars and participated in a live blog on one of my favorite websites.  How sad is that?

Tomorrow is my big interview with Macy’s.  I hope it goes well because I don’t have any other job prospects right now and my cash is dwindling quickly.

Hello World

MeSo, this is a little freaky I guess. I’ve always kind of kept a journal to some extent, but sticking my personal thoughts out in the open is a little scary, but also invigorating. Hopefully, this little look into my world will help those friends that I miss so much back in the cities through which I’ve passed keep in touch. Who knows, maybe I’ll make some new friends too.

Right now, I’m a little lonely. I just arrived in Florida and I don’t really know too many people. I’m still looking for a job, so I’m pretty much praying my meager savings account will hold out for another week or two. I’ve got an interview at Macys next week and I hope things will go my way. I did find a place to live. It’s a small spot, but it’s close enough for me to ride my bike to the beach. For now, I’ve got the computer set up and I’m looking out my window into a little alley. It’s a great view of the dumpster, but at least I can see some sky over the smaller building behind my little apartment.

Time to make some dinner, take a little walk on the beach and spend an exciting Friday night in front of the TV. Yay.
